Title:
Statistical Thinking for Data Science

Description:
In the nascent era of big data, tremendous advances are being made in computation and machine learning that allow for data driven analysis across a range of applications. While very large datasets provide opportunities for deeper and more powerful insights, without equally powerful models, it is just as easy for big data to mislead us. I will describe how data science can benefit from statistical thinking, and how statistics must change in order to regain its relevance among data analysts.
